AT HALE & HUSH, OUR PRIMARY CONCERN IS CARING FOR HEALTH-CHALLENGED SKIN®.
THE FOLLOWING PRINCIPLES GUIDE US IN ALL THAT WE DO.
Aging, common allergies and household chemicals, plus the environment and stress can leave skin dry and irritated, making it difficult for skin to regenerate and repair.
Medical treatments and medications can deplete the skin of essential nutrients, leaving it dry and irritated, and can debilitate vital functions of collagen production, cell regeneration and repair.
Hale & Hush chooses the best fitting preservative for each product that is also kind to the environment; Tecniche® does not formulate with parabens.
Gluten is a protein found in wheat and wheat-related grains. Celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis are autoimmune disorders caused by a reaction to the ingestion of gluten (celiac) or skin contact with gluten (DH). Hale & Hush products have been certified gluten-free to prevent adverse skin reactions.
Hale & Hush has created all of their products to be sulfate-free, protecting the environment as well as the skin from harsh chemicals.
Hale & Hush tests their products on individuals who fall within a variety of points along the Skin Challenge Spectrum. Hale & Hush does not test on animals.
Hale & Hush products have no added artificial fragrances since artificial fragrances can irritate skin, as well as cause nausea and/or headaches. The aroma of Hale & Hush products stems from the naturally occurring scent of the ingredients; if a product is designed to be scented, then a 100% natural scent was incorporated.
A third-party lab performed a “repeat insult patch test” by applying Hale & Hush product on compensated volunteers (not animals) in order to test for skin reactions and make claims that the products are non-irritating, clinically tested and allergy tested; test results are reviewed by a dermatologist.
Hale & Hush chemists carefully take into account the sustainability of natural and organic ingredients, as well as create a combination of ingredients that are best suited for Sensitive and Anti-Aging skin. Natural ingredients are derived from natural sources, which can refer to earth-natural or scientifically derived lab-neutral. Some earth-natural ingredients are also organically grown, which means they are produced with environmentally sound methods: no pesticides, no chemical fertilizers and no genetic modifications.
Mother Nature creates molecules with two sides or hands, right and left. For reasons unknown to scientists, some right-handed molecules work best on skin, whereas some left-handed molecules are better received by the skin. It may be a more extensive and expensive route, but it has been Hale & Hush’s life work to only use the ‘hand’ of the lab-neutral molecule that best mimics Mother Nature’s perfect plan (aka: chirally correct).
The highly purified part of a botanical that has the highest concentrated levels of the key potent active(s); In other words… the best of the best of a botanical.
Hale & Hush is acutely aware that skin cells, including critical stem cells, have their own clocks. These clocks are set to “night” in order to proliferate, repair and maintain healthy tissue. However, stress, illness, night jobs, and normal aging can all interrupt nighttime sleep, which can accelerate DNA damage, cell aging and other negative skin ailments. Hale & Hush creates products that address this natural, yet often overlooked skin ‘clock’ dilemma.
Hale & Hush chooses ingredients that supportive correction and restoration of the stratum corneum and the skin’s barrier defense systems.
WHERE DO YOU FALL?
The skincare industry sells millions of products each year, promising to lessen wrinkles. However, aging is not a wrinkle… aging is a skin challenge, and a wrinkle is the result of not effectively addressing that skin challenge.
The skin challenges of aging are fought by every human being. Conquering and preventing these challenges is at the heart of the Hale & Hush mission.
The skincare industry spends very little money on product and research to help a large population overcome serious skin sensitivities.
Where do you fall on the Skin Challenge Spectrum? Do you want to reduce and prevent wrinkles and hyperpigmentation, or do you want to improve your skin health while gently healing skin sensitivities?
As we age, our skin loses its elasticity and becomes thinner and more fragile, which accelerates the formation and deepening of wrinkles. Aging also causes changes in overall skin texture and tone, and instigates the development of age spots, or hyperpigmentation.
The harmful effects of outdoor and indoor environments (air pollution, UVA/UVB, chemicals, etc.) are extensive. People who live in areas where there is more or less exposure to sun can affect their circadian rhythm of cell renewal. Effects on the skin include dryness, premature aging, skin rashes, eczema, poor or slow healing, and acne.
Hormonal changes due to menopause, pregnancy or birth control pills can cause various reactions. Skin type, sensitivity threshold, and scent or fragrance tolerance might change during these stages.
Some people have reactions to various stimuli (such as natural/artificial compounds, animals, greenery, foods, cleaning agents). If they come into contact with these stimuli, they can experience a range of mild to harsh skin reactions, or “allergic sensitization.” Conditions such as dermatitis and eczema can be the outcome of these reactions.
People dealing with health challenges frequently have very sensitive skin, from both the condition itself and the medications that treat it. Diseases that can affect the skin may be viral (shingles or roseola), gastric (celiac or Crohn’s), motor neuron (Lou Gehrig’s or Parkinson’s), metabolic (thyroid or diabetes), auto-immune (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, or scleroderma). Cancer and cancer treatments are known for their often severe effects on the skin. All of these health challenges can cause the skin to experience one or more of the following conditions: dryness, itchiness, inflammation, irritation, neuropathy, hyperpigmentation, photosensitivity, rashes, blisters and sores.
Stress has an unfortunate cyclical relationship with the skin: stress causes skin problems and skin problems cause stress. Stress affects skin by aggravating skin conditions such as premature aging, eczema, psoriasis, acne, allergies and rashes.
Skin can develop a sensitivity due to a combination of factors, one being the over-application of topicals containing irritants, usually on a daily basis. Regular exfoliation using acids or manual means can disrupt or thin the skin barrier and allow for deeper penetration of these irritants, accelerating this process even more.
Whether your skin is at one end of the Skin Challenge Spectrum or the other, or anywhere in between, Hale & Hush has a product created just for you.
The BeeDazzle Mask is the perfect addition in the treatment room. I love using it before a diamond tip microderm for clients that need a boost in exfoliation. This mask is super easy to apply and gives great results in a single treatment or series with no down time for the client.
